Five Pentacles, Five Earth

Tarot Five Earth, Five Pentacles

Tarot Five Pentacles and each of the Minor Arcana cards numbered 5 express violence, conflict, fear and unsettled influences. This is because 5 is the number of Geburah the sphere associated with Mars on the QBL Tree of life.

Five Earth, Material Trouble, corresponds to the first decan of the astrological sign Taurus and the planetary attribution of the decan is Mercury. The Major Arcana card attribution to Taurus is the Hierophant.

Material Trouble

five pentaclesMaterial Trouble is the title of Five Earth representing the first decan of the astrological sign of Taurus. This first decan of Taurus is allocated to Mercury.

Achievements consolidated under Power, Four of Earth, Sun in Capricorn, are threatened because of a tendency towards overconfidence or wasteral personality in an environment not conducive to growth.

The appearance of the card speaks that restraint must be exercised in all physical undertakings if worries over money and health, because of the breakdown of achievement consolidated by the Four of Pentacles, is to be minimized.

An appearance of Five Earth brings loss of communication with inner voices causing us to be thrown into a universe that appears uncaring and hostile. Mercury’s fluidity is restricted by Taurus so we feel it to be paramount that we must dig in and be careful, especially when presented with new and original experiences or ideas. This maybe the cause for what we perceive as a hostile financial and physical environment which may not be there at all except in our imaginings.

However, it never hurts to be aware and be cautious with the cards appearance.

This card more than any other illustrates the state of confusion experienced by  our ancestors with the loss of the bicameral mind.

When failing to understand the cards appearance in a reading let your mind fall back upon Major Arcana card Hierophant and listen for elucidation to the conundrum.
