Born in Loughborough, UK, in 1947, Roger Williamson has been inspired from an early age by the French Symbolist painters of late nineteenth century France, especially Gustave Moreau, Jean Delville and Fernand Knopff. Chimera Update:  New Paintings The Chimera exhibition features several new paintings, including the triptych “Fall, Paradise Is For Those Who Do What They Are Told”, a work composed of three 8 foot by 4 foot oil on wood panels. The paintings explore the concept of the “Fall” from three perspectives, Gnosticism, Greek mythology and Shamanism. It interprets and reveals the occult message of the “Fall” concept as a communication of opportunity and self-empowerment to those who can see beyond appearances, as opposed to the traditional view of eternal pain and damnation for not doing what you are told to do by others. Chimera Exhibit Update:  Map and Parking for Stevens Square Center for the Arts Parking Chimera Exhibit. The Stevens Square Center for the Arts has a limited amount of off-street parking. Enter the parking lot via the alley on 19th Street. Parking lot is on south side of gallery building look for the Stevens Square mural. Street parking is also available, except where prohibited. Judgment Major Arcana Tarot Card For Judgment I have used the climax of the Cain and Abel story as the image for my interpretation because it illustrates the moment of taking an irreversible step by an action made or a word spoken that can never be taken back. The card reminds us that we need to think before we act or speak. Ishtar, Istar at Stevens Square Center for the Arts Goddess Ishtar, Istar oil painting is on display at Stevens Square Center for the Arts as part of a group show. Opening reception Saturday January 5th, 2013, 7:00pm, refreshments, admission free  The Bedtime Story Show at Stevens Square Center for the Arts This group show includes my painting of She: The Flowering of Ishtar and Io Tells Her Story.  The show features the works of over 20 artists and runs through January 2013.
